This cairn in the scant ruins of the Murray castle on Ormonde Hill near Avoch (pronounced Och!) is where Andrew Murray, Wallaces' companion, raised the banner of Scotland to begin the north rising. As at many of these monuments, there is a commemoration of the event every year.
